The standard for over 150
years, the hexagonal rod is constructed of six
identical, carefully shaped and tapered bamboo strips
rolled and glued into
one section. Beauty and grace.
Quadrate rods are built from
four tapered strips. Harder to build
due to the larger faces and sharper angles at the
corners, quads are slightly lighter and more
directionally stable than an equivalent hex.
Scalloped Hollow Building
Hollow building makes bamboo
rods recover faster and feel lighter and quicker in
hand. The scalloped method removes material from the
inside while leaving solid dams for strength resulting in a
more lively and durable rod.
